Clouds

Cumulus

Alabaster on oak base

I took up the challenge of carving out the shape of a billowing cumulus from a rough stone I took home during the spring 2020 lockdown.  I followed its grooves and ridges, sought out its shadows and worked the edges to catch the light.  It serves as a reminder of the splendour of the world around us.
